Testimonials
…about the power and influence of the magazine, from Foreword's three core audiences
LIBRARIANS
“Foreword is the magazine we look most forward to. Foreword covers books that we probably wouldn’t have heard about and their editors do a really thorough job. I appreciate the special focus and standard running feature on books about the environment.”
D.D., Director
Glen Lake Community Library
“Foreword is a tool I use constantly for collections.”
F.G., Librarian
Austin Public Library
“Foreword is vitally important for publishers because it provides a venue in which indie-publishers can shine. Foreword is vitally important for readers because it provides introductions to books they might not otherwise discover. And Foreword is vitally important for reviewers because it provides access to books that represent a diversity of voices and perspectives.”
F.Y., Library Director
Indiana University East, Campus Library
BOOKSELLERS
“Foreword Reviews is more curated than other review sources, it gives us a big picture view.”
A.H., Schuler Books
“We receive Foreword in the American Booksellers Association's Box Mailings - very helpful to me when ordering, for sure. I think the main value is it helps me sift through the indies and draws my attention to highlights. It's a crowded field and I can do my best with an eye for good cover design and familiarity with authors, but I rely on the reviews in Foreword to give me more insight into titles I might otherwise miss. And though I'm biased as a graphic novel publicist, I have to say the lavish attention paid to graphic novels is really helpful to me as a retailer, as well, since our shop has a big focus on graphic novels and indie comics. It sometimes feels like Foreword is reading them all for me so I can make better decisions.”

“I work at an independent bookstore near Boston, Mass and just wanted to write you a little note of thanks for all you and your magazine do! I also started last September a Small Press Book Club in our store and your magazine is hugely inspiring next to all the catalogs of the many indie presses popping up all the time.”

READERS
“Please thank Marlene Satter for reviewing The Power of the Poppy. I had no idea that the book existed until I discovered it on your website....I will order a copy of the book very soon. Thanks to the staff at Foreword for making my day.”

“I got my copy of the September-October issue this weekend, and think it’s one of the best issues ever. Had some people over to my house when it was out and the arresting cover caught everyone’s eye – great choice. The magazine is looking so sharp these days! So hats off to you and all the others who make it so.”
